I have an access database that was created in Access 2003. It consists of a series of tables, forms and queries. You can modify any forms that use the calendar control to use the built-in Date picker control instead. The great thing with the date picker is that it comes up automatically when a user enters or clicks a date/time textbox. You don't need to write any code to use it. It just works. You just set the textbox's Show date picker property to 'For dates'. Look on the format of the property dialog for the textbox.

Once you do that you can see if there is any code or form that uses the reference called Microsoft Windows Common Controls. The usual recommendation is to avoid using and external controls because you will get reference problems when you upgrade access to a newer version.
